Character: Wreck-It Ralph • Wreck-It Ralph •wreckofaguy
House & Year/Staff Position: Gryffindor Groundskeeper and teacher of Care of Magical Creatures
Basic Rundown:
Ralph's a half-giant, his giant dad left him and his mom early on, so he doesn't remember his dad at all. Things were pretty tough for him and his mom, they were pretty poor and not treated well because she loved a giant and had a half-giant kid.
Things got rough sometimes because of Ralph's temper and terrible tantrums, but once he calmed down, he always apologized and tried to help fix whatever he broke. He's never hurt his mom, but he got into a lot of fights with the other kids in school, especially if they insulted his mama. His mama's the only person who never gave up on him and was always there for him, so he loves her a lot.
When he got his letter for Hogwarts, Ralph almost refused to go, because that'd mean leaving his mama all alone. She insisted that he go and finally he agreed. They couldn't afford some of the supplies and everything else was second-hand. Since he needed an owl in order to write to his mama, he managed to go out, catch one, and teach it the basics of delivering letters.
Ralph's always enjoyed being around animals more than people and he spent a lot of time in the forest. So, when he got to Hogwarts, he was delighted to discover that there was a forest there as well, even if it was forbidden. He'd sneak out to the forest often and got caught most of the time, having to serve detention because of it.
He had some problems in Hogwarts as well, being a half-giant, many were prejudiced against him and his sometimes standoffish attitude and occasional tendancy for violence didn't help him any. Ralph was threatened with expulsion many times, and he'd always try to do his best to not mess up, but he'd slip back when the other kids started bothering him. The Forbidden Forest was his safe place to get away from all of that, his size kept the more dangerous creatures away and he befriended quite a few of the others.
Because many of his problems came from bullying and because the teachers figured that keeping an eye on Ralph in Hogwarts was far better than letting him loose where it wouldn't be as safe for others, Ralph never ended up expelled from school.
It was this attitude that contributed to Ralph becoming the gameskeeper and the teacher of Care of Magical Creatures, along with being a sort of guardian for the forest, after he barely managed to graduate.
He's a decent teacher, the kids learn early on that he isn't going to take any crap from them, but the lessons are usually fun and interesting because he only teaches stuff that he likes. Sometimes he'll bring in a dangerous creature every now and then, but usually the kids aren't afraid because they know that if something happens, he'll take care of it. However, because he is a half-giant, his class sizes are often small, some kids will drop out or be pulled out after a lesson or two, and some of the older kids don't come back in later years.
Ralph lives out in the forest and has made peace with most of the creatures out in there. Him and the centaurs get along okay, they have quite a lot of common ground. He sends whatever money he doesn't use for his own expenses to his mama to help her out.
Type of CR: Pretty much anything and everything are welcome! Considering he's a half-giant, I figure he'll probably get a lot of negative CR.
Any plans?: Nope, I don't have anything specific in mind.
